D-Link Drops Wireless N Router Below £55

We don't usually touch on price cuts (unless they're console based) but this deserves special mention...

D-Link has this week slashed the price of its entry-level DIR-615 Wireless N router to a remarkable £54.99 including VAT and 11 year warranty!

The DIR-615 is an affordable hybrid of the DIR-635 and DIR-655 with its primary difference being that it runs on reduced memory. That said, the 615 still utilises multiple intelligent antennas to boost speed and range, is compatible with both DSL and cable modems, has parental controls, offers a theoretical maximum wireless signal rate of 300Mbps and has built in WEP, WPA and WPA2 encryption standards and dual active firewalls (SPI and NAT). For the technologically unsavvy it's backwards compatible with 802.11b and 802.11g as well.

"D-Link is fully committed to Wireless N technology and the launch of the DIR-615 Wireless N Home Router demonstrates our efforts to bringing superior 802.11n wireless performance to home users at an affordable price," said Andrew Mulholland, UK Marketing Manager D-Link. "Not only does the DIR-615 demonstrate great value for money, the provision of an unmatched 11-year warranty provides peace of mind that the product is sure to last."

Much as I hate going along with press quotes Andrew has a point here and if you're sick of household signal black spots or just want to speed up your home network there's absolutely no excuse now...
