At TR we rather like Creative's Vision range of PMPs but they are a little on the (how shall I say it) 'tubby' side, so thankfully new versions have been sent down the gym.
The blood, sweat and tears put in by both the Vision M (above - old v new) and Vision W (below - old v new) has been worth it too with both models cutting their fat asses from 22.1mm to 19mm and 26.4mm to 22mm respectively.
Unfortunately I suspect the transformation comes via a change in hard drives rather than any great technological re-jig since slimmer 60GB HDDs have been floating around for a while now. All of which makes this more liposuction than carb reduction. Still that does mean you get the same M 2.5in display and W 4.3in display goodness as before with the same range of codecs, battery life and – as far as we know – pricing.
This does leave me wishing Creative had gone the whole nine yards and revamped the line instead of simply dusting it down but both models still provide the best video playback quality of any portable device on the market. That said, CeBIT is coming folks and we all know what that means...
...painful feet, crowds, overpriced beverages and Germans.
