Corsair Makes Toughest Memory Keys Yet

If SanDisk's rock hard Cruzer Titanium just isn't tough enough for your clearly crazy, violent, life endangering active lifestyle then Corsair has just announced something fashioned from the walls of hell itself.

It has launched the 'Flash Survivor' series, a line of ultra-rugged USB drives that even anger management class drop outs would do well to damage.

Encased in CNC milled aluminium (used in aircraft part production), the drives are water proof to 200 metres, rubber shielded to absorb impact force and feature a hollow outer metal tube design so that severe blows (I'm thinking charging rhino/run-away steam roller/woman who missed out on an 80 per cent off Manolo Blahnik sale) do not register on the flash memory and USB connector itself.

In addition, Corsair claims the Flash Survivor line will operate at speeds up to 5x faster than the company's GT series with 34MBps and 28MBps read and write times respectively. Finally, should they fall into the wrong hands, full 256bit AES encryption comes as standard. 8GB and 4GB versions of the Survivor are being made available immediately worldwide for $129.99 and $59.99.

“Corsair has built the Flash Survivor family specifically for customers with a ‘Bring It On!’ attitude" said Jack Peterson, Corsair's VP of Marketing.

Ahhhh, so he's targeting American Cheerleaders. That explains everything...
