DDR2 may be the new kid in town but there’s still a thirsty market for DDR memory. Corsair, a favourite amongst gamers and enthusiasts looking for high performance memory, has released the first 1GB DDR modules to support CAS-2 latencies as part of its XMS 3200 range. The parts are the CMX1024-3200C2 and the TwinX2048-3200C2.

Corsair’s previous 1GB modules only offered CAS-3 latencies. The new modules are also rated as PC3200, running at 400MHz, but sport aggressive latencies of 2-3-3-6 when run in an Intel platforms and 2.5-3-3-6 when run in an AMD system. Lower CAS ratings and latencies reduce memory response times, which help to increase system performance.

The modules are available singly or in matched pairs that have been tested together in dual channel configuration. More information can be found at www.corsairmemory.com.
