The next big thing was Sapphire’s dual VPU motherboard for ATI’s new Cross Fire platform. Having let nVidia have its own way with SLi for some time now, ATI has finally struck back with its own dual card solution, launched today. For a full run down of Cross Fire, check out Lars’ report here.

Of course the obvious question was whether the Blizzard cards would be Cross Fire compatible, to which the answer was yes. The next obvious question would have to be – who the hell could afford a pair of Blizzard cards for a Cross Fire set up anyway?

Rest assured that I’ll be badgering Sapphire relentlessly until I get Cross Fire and Blizzard samples, which is only fair since no doubt Adrian will have to hassle me just as hard to get them back!
