Biostar was showing off the latest version of our favourite small form factor PC. The iDEQ 300 looks like it’s going to be a real winner again. The 300 comes in two flavours, the 300G and the 300M. The former is based on the new Intel Socket 775 platform complete with PCI Express support, while the latter is a Socket 478 solution with AGP support.
Like MSI’s Mega PC, the iDEQ 300 has an integrated FM radio tuner. There’s also a front mounted display to show you what the machine is currently up to.
However, the most impressive feature is Biostar’s “sharkmouth†design. This feature allows the whole chassis to split in half and tilt upwards, making it easy to fit all the components when building the system, or to get at them when upgrading.
It was also good to see that the iDEQ 300 can accept two hard disks, so you can squeeze a RAID array into this little box. All the components are kept happy by a new cooling design that blows air right through the chassis from one end to the other. Biostar should be shipping the new iDEQs in the next couple of months, so be sure to check back with TrustedReviews for a full review of Biostar’s new baby.
