Recently Dell appears to have decided that being coy and suggestive is the way to go, which in fairness seems to be working out pretty well thus far. During the company's press conference yesterday Michael Tatelman, VP of Sales and Marketing, took to teasing us poor journos with a 5in Android based tablet/slate/PMP (choose whichever you prefer) that's currently in the concept stage.
As part of ruse he insisted on removing if from his pocket for just moments, ensuring that people scrabbled to get a photo before he put it away. All very funny, at least I'm sure he thinks so. In any case the above photo was all I managed to capture, but Dell has since released renders of the said device that are a good deal more revealing.
Okay, well maybe not that revealing – besides the presence of Android there's no way of knowing what's powering this thing. What we do know is that there's a five megapixel camera on the back and that, at his stage at least, there's no phone element to this device – a claim somewhat contradicted by what looks like an ear-piece on the below press shots. Dell also revealed that it was working on a variety of similar devices, mostly larger versions of the same concept, as evidenced by a promo vid pictured below.
That, I'm afraid, is all I have you. Check below for the press shots and let us know what you think in the comments.
