CES 2009: Panasonic Joins Thin TV Brigade with Viera Z1 Plasma

CES 2009 has been all about the thin TVs and Panasonic wasn't about to disappoint. Sitting secretly under a black shroud, Panasonic resisted unveiling its one inch thick Plasma TV, the Viera Z1, until the very end of its press conference and we were there to get some snaps.

Utilising Panasonic's new Neo PDP panel technology, the 54in Z1 features a wireless HD set-top box (another common trend of 2009), a native 40,000:1 contrast ratio, THX certification and network delivered content through Viera Cast - partners include Amazon, YouTube, Comcast and Google.

Full specs, UK pricing and availability remain elusive, but when we have them you'll know about it.
