BenQ Lifts High End Data Projectors

With all talk surrounding home cinema focused projectors, it's easy to forget the innovations going on in their roots.

BenQ's new 'SP830' and 'SP831' however do an excellent job of refocusing our minds as both bring a fantastic new feature into play: split screen displays.

Yep, you heard that right - the models enable users to display videos or images from two distinct signal sources simultaneously. So whether the SP830/831 is used for formal presentations or commercial demonstrations, the audience can see display slides and complementary videos side-by-side. Useful and kinda neat.

With an HQV (Hollywood Quality Video) processor, WXGA resolution and 10bit colour processing these aren't your low end grainy business units either and are backed up with a high 3,500 ANSI lumens rating. The SP830 and SP831 also operate at just 32dB and carry a DVI connection with HDCP support and a pocket friendly lamp life of 4,000 hours.

So if you want to rock the boardroom (can't believe I just said that) get your secretary to pen the Q4 release timeframe into your PDA and be prepared to splash £1,099 on the SP830 or £1,299 on the SP831. Both sums sound rather reasonable, especially if they make the board members go "Ooooh".
