As if Asus hadn't already announced enough at CeBIT this year, speaking to Tech Radar, Jerry Shen revealed that the company's Fold/Unfold concept notebook will be launching this year.
Considering how little has been heard about the system since it was first shown off, Asus is moving at an impressive pace to get retail units out so soon. The design raises the keyboard on opening the laptop both to improve ergonomics, making typing more comfortable, and also to aid cooling, which is done passively with air exhausting out of the gap under the sliding keyboard.
What configuration, or configurations, Asus will offer the laptop in haven't been mentioned. The passive nature of its cooling would suggest an Atom, or similarly low-powered CPU - but anything's possible.
Shen also said that Asus is working hard to produce retail versions of its dual touchscreen folding notebook concept machine. We'll be waiting a bit longer before that's commercially available, though.
