Asus had better stop releasing and leaking new products soon or the world and its dog is going to go mad. If it must continue with having its products spotted in the wild before they're official, though, then doing it in so tantalising a manner as the Eee PC desktop, or E-DT as it should properly be known, is probably a rather cunning modus operandi.
While the design isn't confirmed as final, the above pictured chassis certainly looks the part. Specs-wise this leak tells us nothing, so we'll have to go by earlier information which suggested the internals should be very similar to the mobile version.
Again no official word is available, but rumour has it that Atom processors will be making their way into the E-DT. It is probable that the second generation machine would see the newer chips, as this spec would almost undoubtedly have been finalised before planning for Atom. Nonetheless, if the sub-£300 purported price of the E-DT holds true it shouldn't matter what components it uses - as the success of the Eee PC proved.
