In an announcement which appears to be more of a marketing exercise than anything particularly tangible Apple has unveiled the ‘MacBook Ultimate’.
The black-only model doesn’t exactly scream ‘Ultimate’ to me from this side of the room but for what it’s worth it comes with a boosted two gigahertz processor, RAM which has been doubled to one gigabyte and there’s an 80 gigabyte HDD. The price is listed at $1,599 which is basically what it costs to upgrade an existing MacBook spec to match this anyhow.
The rest of the machine is bog standard which means a 13.3in 1280 x 800 display, integrated graphics and iSight webcam, Apple remote, SuperDrive, WiFi, FireWire, Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.0, 2x USB2.0 et al. Similarly the company has announced a white version with identical specs which doesn’t have the ‘MacBook Ultimate’ tag and costs $150 less.
Both models are available for purchase absolutely nowski, unlike the marketing men behind this limp scheme who should’ve immediately offered their more delicate areas up to practicing American Football Place Kickers.
