While Iiyama was first onto the mainstream touchscreen monitor scene (quite the opening tongue twister) it has taken a lot longer than we might have expected for someone else to follow it up...
Thankfully eight months later we have AG Neovo to thank for stepping into the breach with its TS series consisting of the 15in '15S' and 17in '17R'.
Interestingly both choose different paths to implement their touchy feeliness with the 15S using Surface Acoustic Wave and the 17R going for 5-wire Resistive touch technology. AG Neovo claims the pair are united however in providing positional accuracy that is one per cent within precision area and the panels will withstand up to 50m touches at a single point (must've been a boring job for someone... stay in school kids).
Groping aside, specs are about where you'd expect with the duo featuring 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 1024 native resolutions respectively, 6ms response times and anti-glare coatings. The quoted 500:1 contrast ratios seem rather low in this day of 50 000:1-ers but we all know by now this is an ambiguous and misleading measurement at best.
The TS-15S and IS-17R go on sale immediately though AG Neovo is only revealing RRPs to customers' looking to place orders so don't expect to create a panoramic view with them unless you have more money than sense.
In which case: friend?
