4GEE Capture Cam now available from EE

EE has made its 4GEE Capture Cam available to buy in the UK.

The UK network giant announced its second action camera of the year last month. Now the 4GEE Capture Cam is officially available to purchase.

As the name and network suggests, the advantage of the 4GEE Capture Cam over the GoPro crowd is its ability to broadcast live footage over a 4G network via the Skeegle broadcasting service.

It’s also small and lightweight (just 90g), making it suitable for lugging around wherever you can get a signal.

The 8-megapixel camera comes with 4GB of internal storage for your stills and videos, and you can expand this by a further 64GB.

Of course, there are limitations. For example, you can only live stream 720p video at 30fps, and you’re stuck with a 4:3 aspect ratio. The 4GEE Capture Cam is also fixed focus.

You can still capture Full HD 1080p footage on the Capture Cam, and its battery is good for 2.76 hours of the stuff. Streaming the lower quality video will lower the battery life to 1.91 hours.

There’s a companion app for the 4GEE Capture Cam, which can be downloaded for free from the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store.

You can now pick up the 4GEE Capture Cam on PAYG or contract from an EE shop or online. It’ll set you back £129.99 with 2GB of pre-loaded data, £149.99 with 6GB of pre-loaded data, or £199.99 with 24GB pre-loaded.

Alternatively, you can grab one for £9.99 up front on a £10 or £15-per-month two year contract.

A range of accessories, including a waterproof case, will be available from January.
