Netbook hard drive upgrades are big in Japan.
As if making up for the frankly confusing Mini 12 Dell has gone ahead and pushed out a 32GB version of its Mini 9 netbook. The upgrade also brings a pair of new colour options, red and (a surprisingly tasteful) pink.
Currently the systems are only available in Japan but there seems to particular reason that Dell wouldn’t roll the upgrades out to the rest of the world – especially with Christmas coming up soon. Not to mention the Samsung NC10 stealing the netbook limelight at the moment.
At ¥54,980 (~£380) isn’t too much of a mark up over the £299 16GB system. A 32GB Eee PC Buffalo upgrade module sits at around £80 by itself after all. Although a 64GB SuperTalent module sits at £86 so Dell isn’t being amazingly generous.
