According to Tesco, the 12in Dell E Slim hinted at a couple of months ago looks set to arrive here on the week of the 6th of October. We know, because the rather confusingly named "Dell Inspiron Z530 1GB 12in Web Browser", specs and all, has been leaked on the Tesco Direct online store; albeit accompanied by pictures of the Inspiron Mini 9.
The Z530 part of the name likely refers to the use of an Atom z430 processor, which is different from the N270 used by near-enough every netbook only in that it supports Intel Virtualization Technology - it's still a 1.6GHz clock speed, 512MB L2 cache-sporting chip, though. Although according to Tesco Intel doesn't know what it's talking about, and the Z530 actually has 1MB of cache and a 1.33GHz clock speed.
Elsewhere there's purportedly a 40GB hard drive, a trip of USB ports and, of course a 12in screen, which sports a WXGA resolution. That could be anything from 1,280 x 720 to 1,366 x 768 - there's no real way of knowing.
The full listed specs are as follows:
We're guessing that ht installed "Linux Ubunto" is probably like Ubuntu, but requiring you to pay a small "administration fee" before you can use it.
Google cached page showing 12in Z530 (I'm assuming Tesco will take down the original page soon).
