Having checked the Netgear site (and re-read the review), I can see that the ethernet switch acts as an adaptor, with one adaptor plugged into your modem/router and the other being your switch.
I can now see the benefit of this approach, saving one plug socket, and with the switch being more tightly integrated with the adaptor. Not sure if I would pay extra for it, but I'm sure the price will come down as more of these kits are released.

I've got a Comtrend power line kit with two ethernet plugs (which include pass-through) and an 5-port Edimax switch for a total of £60 (£50 + £10). So, what does the extra £40 buy you in terms of functionality and usability, if you go for the Netgear kit?
