Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ Comments

I purhcased a ReadyNAS NV+ 4450 in early 2009 and had a hard drive showing bad sectors right out of the box (increased every day). I refrained from loading any data on it and got on the phone to their technical support.

Nearly three months later and at least 20 phone calls (more than four hours on hold!) I have a refurbished hard drive (not even the same model as the other three) and still have not been able to use it. They don't return phone calls when they say they will and I have had calls escalated many times but am still waiting on a result.

This puppy has a five year warranty but the first three months have been pretty shaky so I am not at all looking forward to another 'four year nine month relationship with Netgear'. If the service wasn't so poor, it would be comical but I still live in hope of getting a Seagate ES2 Sata hard drive so I can start using it.
