The conclusions are rather a non-sequitur. The data may simply demonstrate that houswifes and Chinese are more likely to complete surveys...

I may be pointing out the blatantly obvious but surely it is no surprise the Scandinavians spend much time on the internet as they do not have to spend time waiting for pages to load/download in the case of downloading.

@Flash - agreed. I think that is the danger of any form of polling however.
@Andrew - it actually points out the opposite though, Scandinavians surprisingly spend some of the least leisure time online.

@flash good point
@Gordon sorry i didn't make that clear and its certainly not the opposite - what I meant that an hours surfing/downloading for me would probably take 40 minutes maybe less due to the time spent waiting for pages to load. Which is a contributing factor although granted, tabs has greatly helped me to cut done/do more as pages are loaded in the background whilst I read.

Japan has the fastest average, according to an ITIF chart from Aug 07, with 61 MBps. The reason for that appears to be state funded fibre optics.

That's what we need in the UK, state subsidised fibre optics. Gordon can you please do some more moaning in your articles about our broadband speeds? With social pressure we can do... something!
