Mhm, it's not massively exciting news given that Three and Vodafone seem to have the mobile broadband market cornered at the moment. It is still good news, though. Long may the surge in mobile data speeds continue...

This is all well and good, but I think T-Mobile need to ensure that all of their base station's are upgraded to the first HSDPA speeds which are 1.8 Mbps if my memory serves me right. It's all well and good having 7.2 mpbs round central london but I think they need consistent full coverage of each speed, and them bump it up. So for example full Gm coverage, full 3g coverage, HSDPA; 1.8bmps, 3.6 mbps, 7.2 mbps and so on...

Am I correct in saying the users (me included) of the older USB modem will not benefit from this?

Pity that T-mobile are rubbish for coverage or I might get more excited about this.
