While other networks are finally catching onto the idea of flat rate mobile phone data contracts, T-mobile has been doing it for more than two years - with offers like this - it shows.

The telco has today announced its '5 Day Pass' which lets PAYG customers and those on monthly contracts without a flat rate web n walk data package (shame on you) have unlimited web surfing on their handsets for just £2.50.

As those of you with a GCSE A* in mathematics have probably worked out with the aid of calculators this equates to just 50p per day and less than you would pay for a Mars bar. Even better, the 5 Day Pass provides unlimited access (subject to the usual fair usage policy) and comes just in time for the Festive Season.

Setting it up is easy too (like a GCSE in Art) simply requiring users to either call 879, text '441' or login to their T-Mobile online account. T-Mobile then texts the customer within 30 minutes letting them know their pass has started.

Richard Warmsley, T-Mobile Head of Internet on the Move, said: "The web'n'walk 5 Day Pass puts the whole internet into your pocket. It's perfect for people who simply want to dip in and out of the internet on their phone, with the 5 Day Pass you get unlimited web browsing on the internet for a great price and without any hidden costs."

Should users just want a single day's access T-Mobile already offers a £1 per day rate while laptop owners with data cards are charged £4 per day.

In related news, T-Mobile has also launched Web n Walk 3 version 3 which gives users advanced personalisation options for their homepage including monitoring their eBay accounts and Amazon recommendations.

O2, Vodafone, Orange, it's catch up time again...
