OvisLink, the Taiwanese networking company has announced new additons to the ‘AirLive’ range. The 108Mbps 802.11g+ prodcuts are the AirLive WL-8000AP access point, the WL-8000PCM Wireless PC Card, and the WL-8000PCI, - a wireless PCI card. All the devices in the 8000 series feature TI Turbo technology, which effectively doubles the transfer rates og 54g Wi-Fi. To achieve these speeds however, all the kit has to be part of the AirLive brand.

OvisLink claims that its 108Mbps solution differs from competitors by providing 108Mpbs speeds over a single channel, making it less susceptible to interference and increasingly stability.

Blue is as ever very much the colour scheme for the WL-800AP Access Point. It implements an adjustable power output design that enables users to reduce the output power when an external booster or high gain antenna is attached for improved performance. The output power range can be adjusted from six per cent to 100 per cent.

The three devices support the latest WPA security encryption as well as the standard WEP encryption. For wireless ISP and Hotspot providers, the WL-8000AP also provides 802.1x Radius support.

The AirLive WL-8000AP, WL-8000PCI, and WL-8000PCM are available now at suggested retail prices of €70.00, €37.00, €36.00 respectively (price in euros - VAT excluded). The products are available in the UK from www.cablenet.uk.com and www.airlive.co.uk.
