When broadband was still a fresh technology, ADSL modems were a big deal. Now ISPs often bundle them free with connections or people are going for routers that have them integrated. However, with broadband connections increasing there’s still a large market for stand alone devices.

OvisLink has today announced its ‘eLive’ branded AM-100U USB ADSL Modem, targeted at the SOHO and SME markets.
The modem can support connections between 1Mb/s and 8Mb/s making it ideal for gaining access to corporate networks, video streaming or basic Internet access. The modem supports many different protocols to ensure global compatibility.
OvisLink has attempted to streamline installation with a wizard that has an automated setup routine based on country and ISP.
The AM-100U is USB 1.1 powered and supports all flavours of Windows from 98 onwards, MacOS 9 and X and Linux.
No UK pricing has been given but the retail price in Euros is €41.00 including VAT.
