Pure Launches One Classic DAB

Pure already detailed its Evoke Flow Internet Radio at IFA, but why stop at one new radio when you can launch a second one? Or rather, a second One; specifically the One Classic, Pure's second generation of what the company says is the world's most successful DAB radio.

Foremost on the list of improvements is the addition of ReVu to allow the pausing and rewinding of live radio broadcasts, a 3.5mm jack, for connecting external audio devices and improved battery life. Stand-alone battery life isn't quoted, but Pure claims 40 hours of use with the add-on ChargePAK; a £29.99 accessory.
The One Classic also supports Intellitext, extended text information broadcasts provided by some DAB stations. Pure's textSCAN function allows this to be paused and navigated through, which for many will be easier than trying to read scrolling text. Support for DAB+ (MPEG codec versus AAC) stations has been added, too.
The Pure One Classic has an MSRP of £49.99, which is pretty reasonable for the feature set. If you're interested, the radio should be available this month.

I thought DAB+ was a move to AAC/AAC+ from MPEG which offered better sound quality from lower or equal bit rates.
Techy stuff....
