iPods, iPods, whatever happened to these simple yet wonderful devices that once proved so popular before Apple was consumed by its obsession with the iPhone? iRiver sure doesn't know – but after producing a device as lust worthy as the 'NV' I'm sure it doesn't care either...

Travelling down a similar route to Archos' recently announced 705, the iRiver NV is a PMP for the hardcore mobile movie afficionardo (a title I just made up but which sounds rather good).

To this end the NV sports a huge LED backlit 7in screen with 840 x 480 resolution and vast feature set which includes SiRF III GPS, a T-DMB television tuner, FM radio, two SD slots (sat nav and memory expansion), 1.3MP camera and USB connectivity. File format support is predictably all encompassing too playing nicely with MP3, Ogg, WMA, ASF, WMV, Mpg, Xvid and H.264.

Perhaps just as interesting would be to know the NV's size and weight along with a potential release date and pricing but we don't always get what we want... did I mention that I didn't get Glastonbury tickets...?!
