I’ve said it before and until something better comes along I’ll say it again: the Sansa e200 series is currently the finest ultra portable flash based MP3 player on the market. Here are eight new reasons why…

Unveiled today is a new flagship, the e280, and it sports a massive 8GB of storage. This is an industry leading figure which equals the Sony Walkman NW-A1200 though the Sansa improves on it by including a microSD slot. microSD is currently up to 2GB giving the e280 a potential 10GB capacity but since it is the card format of the future further expansion could be relatively limitless.

As for the rest of the player it contains the same yumminess that I adored first time around: automatic landscape video playback, picture viewing, an intuitive interface, nano beating battery life, an FM tuner (if you hack it using the US firmware!), a proportionally large 1.9in screen, non-scratch exterior and far cheaper price.

Speaking of which there’s a knock on effect too as the e280 is set to debut in late September for just $249.99 and the RRPs of the e250 (2GB), e260 (4GB), e270 (4GB) are will then drop to a mere $139.99, $179.99 and $219.99 respectively. Given that a quick search on Froogle will show all of these models going for significantly less than this and a 4 gig nano still retails for £179 ($339) your purchase decision just became laughably easy.

Note:
At this stage we’re currently unsure whether the bosoms come bundled with the player or are optional accessories but I’m liking the company's choice of official photography…
