An iPod Protective Case I Like!

I hate MP3 player protective cases, my arguments are well known. I simply don’t see the need to bulk up a device which engineers have spent every waking hour trying to reduce, and that has the residual value of a high end graphics card and can be cared for with some simple common sense. Alas the world is against me, but at least Artwizz could create an entente with this…

Perhaps the simplest product to have ever been presented to the TR news desk (the AcoustiFeet run it a close second), ‘ScratchStopper’ is a highly durable hard coat film cut into three pieces that covers the front, back and Click-Wheel of an iPod.

It adds no bulk to the player (unless you own scales that weigh in milligrams and a ruler that measures in nanometres) and claims to protect the litigiously scratchable devices from scuffs, bumps and evil, nasty, soul destroying fingerprints (well, they really seem to bother some people?). A micro-fibre cleaning cloth is included to wipe down the iPod before applying the films – which boast not to leave any marks if removed – and every pack contains two sets of films.

The cost for these slivers of plastic and piece of fabric: just under ten whole smackers from ipodworld. Still, if you’re too insecure to throw away your protective cases altogether yet powerfully swayed but my irrefutable arguments (I can hear the emails piling up already) this may provide a pleasant in-between… ‘‘you wimps!
