iRiver has more tributaries than the River Nile but its latest range, the T10, doesn’t look like it is here just to make up the numbers.

Clearly styled for the fashion market, the T10s are a range of Flash based memory players available in the usual capacities of 256MB, 512MB and 1GB. Lime Green, Cherry Red and Orange Yellow (its words not mine) correspond to each incremental size increase.

At 86 x 41 x 29mm they are certainly not the smallest solid state players we have seen, but at just 45g they are incredibly light. The extra size also has some benefit given that the T10s can incorporate a 1.1in 64k colour LCD and the battery must take up a considerable amount of the casing considering iRiver’s huge battery life claim of 53 hours.

There are 10 equaliser settings (could this have influenced the name?), MP3, WMA and OGG (good boys) support as well as a built in FM Tuner and clock.

If you’re an active type the clip can be attached to hook it to belts or pockets. If you are an aspiring rapper then you’ll prefer to hang it around your neck (Hear Me Now!).

No UK pricing on this one at the current time, but sales begin in the Korea from 20 May. Expect us (as usual) to be a few months behind.
