Creative may have just launched a ‘war on the iPod’ but its latest releases are two new flash based MP3/WMA players. The company claims that its MuVo Micro N200 is its smallest digital audio player yet measuring just 33.5 x 65.5 x 13mm and weighs just 34g. It’s powered by a single AAA battery that Creative states will last for over 15 hours of continuous playtime.

Available in capacities of 128, 256, 512, or 1GB of memory the N200 has built-in FM radio and microphone, and can record from both, as well as a line-in audio input that encodes directly to MP3. So many smaller players are hambered by slow transfer speeds but the N200 features USB 2.0 support to ensures downloads are as fast as a song per second.

The V200 can be picked up in either black or white finishes in a range of capacities. Uniquely the different sizes are indicated by the colour of the border round the display. There's light blue for 128MB, dark blue for 256MB, silver for 512MB and black for the 1GB, the latter which would be good for 240 tracks of 4-minute WMAs encoded at 128Kbps. If the music does run out you can switch to the FM radio with 32 presets and there’s also a built-in microphone for voice recording. The V200 has a two piece design and can act as a regular USB memory key by removing the device from its battery housing.

The suggested selling prices for both players are:

128MB - £59.99
256MB - £79.99
512MB - £99.99
1GB - £149.99
