ATI TV Wonder USB 2.0
ATI has long been proud of its multimedia abilty as well as its graphics prowess and is hoping to bolster that reputation with a new multimedia product. The TV Wonder USB 2.0 is an external TV Tuner that uses USB 2.0 rather than USB 1.1. This enables ATI to pass full uncompressed images over to the PC, claiming that this will produce image quality that is superior to competitor products.

ATI is also emphasising the strengths of its Theatre 200 chip in producing that picture quality.
The TV Wonder features a coaxial input for the TV Tuner but images can be obtained from the composite and S-Video slots with stereo inputs for the audio. One USB cable is all that is required to connect to a PC but an external power supply is also required.

The TV Wonder integrates with ATI's MultiMedia Centre (MMC) software enabling programs to be scheduled for recording and captured in MPEG 1, 2 or 4 formats.
The ATI TV Wonder USB 2 will have a suggested retail price of $99 but UK pricing hasn’t been confirmed at this time.
