Interesting concept Hugo. And thanks for trying to evaluate the product.

I am left somewhat non-plussed by the whole concept. As someone who listens to all the genres, I would not want to buy every type and be swapping constantly!
Surely any phones should be so designed to output the signal converted to sound in the purest fashion. - Without modification. Leaving the consumer to adjust output to his or her taste.
Not a winner here - I will stick with the unfettered kind....

Funnily enough, I have a big list of songs called 'The Playlist' and Girls Aloud, Louis Armstrong and Nirvana DO all feature on them - no joke, but yes I did take notice when TR described the CX 95s as a good all rounder. (I actually have Ride of the Valkyries as well, just not in any playlist.)
