I purchased 2 Gogear 8 GB players last 8 months ago. A good player but bad batteries. The batteries in both have failed in both. I would guess no more than 30 charge cycles. When I tried to get a replacement battery they told me to buy a new player because the batteries could not be replaced. I pointed out that the package said:
" ***Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles and
may eventually need to be replaced."
Philips replied:
I understand that you are not happy with the manual statement and I apologize for the inconvenience.
The statement is not incorrect. Rechargeable batteries do have to be replaced after so many charge cycles. I do understand where you thought that the battery could be replaced.

Do they use that image to advertise absolutely everything? I've seen it on their mp3 players, on their TV's, on their DVD players...
