XtremeMac’s MicroFlip, has a cover that flaps down vertically rather than the wallet style side opening cover of the MicroFolio. This cover is held in place by a leather latch that attaches to a hook that sticks out of the outside of the case, but I found that I could barely get this attached with my thicker 60GB iPod – the 30GB version should go fit much more easily.
The back of this cover also has a belt attachment, which is nice and wide so it won’t come off easily. The iPod is fully protected down the sides and at the top so if you’re after more fully covered case, this might appeal.

However, this case uses a mottled leather effect that I really don’t like either the look or feel of. The case is designed so that to get access to the controls you have to lift up the iPod, rather than the flap coming down. Also, the ‘Made in China’ label is rather too obvious. Not too denigrate the hard working folk of China, but it doesn’t exactly ooze class.
Verdict
This is bulkier than the MicroFolio, and looks and feels worse. I’d go with Folio every time.
