On the box this is billed as a case and wallet in one, which sounds like a great idea as it saves you having to carry around multiple items. However it’s a bit of a pipe dream. If you normally carry around a few credit cards, coins and anything else then this case won’t be anywhere be big enough. However, it is still a pretty fine case. The outside is smart brown soft leather with stitching round the edges and running across the centre. You can also get it in three other finishes, dark brown, black and a sort of mottled finish, but I think this light brown looks the best.
It has a flap that covers the main section into which you slip the iPod. The inside of this contains a pocket or you can lift this up and place something underneath. You could possibly slip some cash into this or a single credit card, but little else, but if that’s all you need for the trip out then you’ll be happy. The XtremeMac logo is embossed into the leather, which is a good look.

The case is designed for both 30GB and 60GB iPods and though it was a bit of a squeeze for the latter it was fine. Both the screen and the click-wheel are covered by a plastic protector. Personally, I think that only the screen requires this – the plastic stops the wheel from being used as effectively. The connectors are all easily accessible at the top and bottom at least.
Verdict
The best aspect of this case is that it looks very good and has a pleasant feel in the hand. If you want to impress when you whip out your case bound iPod, this will do the job. However, some might think it looks a little purse like, which might not appeal.
