Sony has added two new models to its Giga Juke range, the Giga Juke NAS-SC500PK - a whole 445 bigger than the Giga Juke NAS-SC55PKE, whatever that entails - and the NAS-E300HD.
Packing 160GB of hard drive space the NAS-SC500PK will rip CDs to its hard drive, which can then be played either on the player, or around the house on any DLNA device. One wireless player is provided for facilitating just that. The players support MP3, AAC, ATRAC, Linear PCM, and WMA files, which should cope with most peoples' collections.
The NAS-E300D has a smaller, 80GB hard drive and no wireless player, making it more appropriate for a single room set-up. Both devices have a built-in database of some 350,000 tracks is present for adding song information on import and further data can be pulled from the 'net should it be required. Sony's DSEE tech is present adding in detail to compressed music, and experience tells us it does this pretty well.
Both the NAS-500PK and NAS-E300D will be available from the middle of this month for undisclosed prices.
