Jobs Responds to MacWorld Health Rumours

If there's one thing we don't tend to care for at TR it's wittering on about people's health (it's above and beyond the technology remit) but when it overlaps as horrendously as the Steve Jobs saga and the man himself feels obliged to comment we'll relent on this single occasion...
Speaking out officially first the first time about the quite frankly distasteful amount of health related speculation his absence from MacWorld 2009 has prompted Jobs has today issued a statement explaining:
"A hormone imbalance has been "robbing" me of the proteins my body needs to be healthy. Sophisticated blood tests have confirmed this diagnosis. The remedy for this nutritional problem is relatively simple and straightforward, and I've already begun treatment. But, just like I didn't lose this much weight and body mass in a week or a month, my doctors expect it will take me until late this Spring to regain it. I will continue as Apple's CEO during my recovery."

Unsurprisingly Apple's board is backing their inspirational boss, issuing a co-statement pointing out "If there ever comes a day when Steve wants to retire or for other reasons cannot continue to fulfil his duties as Apple's CEO, you will know it. Apple is very lucky to have Steve as its leader and CEO, and he deserves our complete and unwavering support during his recuperation. He most certainly has that from Apple and its Board."
Admittedly everyone can see Jobs has lost weight (above), but let's hope this will draw a line under the matter since it really isn't any of our business. On the other hand, cheaper Macs and remedying basic iPhone flaws (camera, cut and paste, MMS, you know the drill) most certainly IS - so fix it guys and this week!

Ben, I think that post is the most bizarre piece. This success of Mr Jobs is not down to the man himself or Apple, it's down to the fool who feels they NEED Apple products.
