We seen all those cheap Chinese iPod nano 4G case knock-offs and scepticism has been high, but with the Apple Let's Rock event nigh, the cat is now most definitely out the bag...

Official iPod online accessory store easyishop.co.uk has suddenly begun selling iPod nano 4G cases which are 'Designed to fit the 4th Generation iPod Nano perfectly' - so that's that.

Consequently these cases give us an exact mould for the soon-to-be-announced line while a image inlay confirms they will indeed be abandoning their previous chunky incarnation to return to a more rectangular shape so a larger (seemingly widescreen) video focused, landscape display can be fitted.

Interestingly, the scroll wheel also looks to have been enlarged (unless the reduced width creates an optical illusion) while they may well be slightly larger and heavier overall which won't go down too well with those looking to use the player solely for music.

Both cases are available now for under £20, so if you enjoy being scarily ahead of the curve you know what to do. Ok Steve J, over to you so you can - at great length and ponderous detail - tell us what we already know...

(We'll at least keep our fingers crossed for some juicy iTunes 8 info and more than an incremental iPhone 3G-ish design for the iPod touch, but I'd suggest not getting too excited)
