While Apple has consistently proved that raw feature count doesn't overcome style and software design this may buck the trend...

Creative has revealed that it will be shipping its funky Zen Stone Plus is whopping 4GB variants, which - at a stroke - not only doubles its previous best but quadruples the increasingly pitiful 1GB maximum of Apple's iPod shuffle.

Of course beyond all this extra storage, the Stone Plus also offers the significant benefit of a four line display, support for MP3, AAC and WMA audio formats a voice memo recorder and a shuffle matching 12 hours of continuous music playback.

So the catch has got to be in the price, right? Wrong. With the 1GB iPod shuffle retailing for £49, Creative has priced the 4GB Zen Stone Plus at a meagre $99 (£48.12 - before Being British tax is added) begging the obvious question: You may like Apple, you may like its styling and neat iTunes integration but can you really, really really ignore more features AND 4x more storage for roughly the same money?

Thought so.
