I feel I should be sick of iPhone-a-like PMPs but, for some strange reason, they still make me excited.

Perhaps it is the lack of a two year mobile contract or the hilarity at the audaciousness of rival companies, but SuperTalent - famed for its monstrous consumer SSDs - looks to be onto something.

Outrageous design influence aside, the flagship 'VIDEGO 28' ticks a lot of buttons: 2.8in touchscreen, skinny dimensions (95 x 56 x 14mm), a choice of 2GB or 4GB models with a built in miniSD card to augment that, support for MP3, WMA and AVI, an FM tuner, integrated mic - and on.

Perhaps even more interesting is the price with SuperTalent slapping a tiddly $125 (approx £65) price tag on its head. Tempted now? Yep, I thought so.

Backing up the VIDEGO 28 are two other models, the VIDEO 24T (middle) and the plain old VIDEGO 24 (right). The 'T' stands for touch sensitive buttons and it's the differentiator between the two as they otherwise share a 2.4in LCD, 1GB of memory and the same codec support and features (including miniSD expansion slot) as the 28. At just 76 x 48 x 9mm they are also totally teeny.

Sadly SuperTalent didn't reveal prices for these two, but given the jaw droppingly low RRP for the 28 expect to get one for swapsies with a sweet wrapper. All models will hit the market any minute and while they may take some hunting down it could be worth the effort.

So the lesson learnt here is plagiarism is good, especially when the results are cheaper...
