Another day, another sleek PMP...

From audiophile favourite's iRiver comes the 'B20', a mish-mash of a player that will either excite or repel with little in-between.

Undoubtedly the highlight of the B20 is its integrated DAB radio, a fully realised feature which allows up to 40 presets and will support the future roll out of radio EPG schedules (colour image slideshows and all). Naturally enough then this kicks the usual FM tuner brigade in the most tender of locations though iRiver has also thrown in an FM tuner for good measure.

Unfortunately from here though it is all downhill. For a start the B20 only sports a 2.4in screen, that's smaller than virtually any of the recently announced players and storage is only available in measly 1GB, 2GB and 4GB capacities. On top of this the B20 bafflingly chooses miniSD rather than microSD for further expansion while DRM free AAC support (ie: DRM free iTunes tracks) is not included.

Add to this a rather bulky design, a mediocre five hour video battery life and outrageous RRPs of £149 for the 1GBer (really!), £169 for the 2GBer (I kid you not) and £209 for the £4GBer (yep, it's beyond a joke) and it looks like only hardcore DAB fanatics need apply.

On the plus side this is the most portable DAB player to date and I suspect the feature could become a mainstay of PMPs in the not too distant future.
