A mid-range phone offering a 4in screen with 480 x 854 pixel resolution and an 8MP camera, the Motorola Motoluxe is an intriguing proposition. However, we don't feel it quite gets the balance right thanks to an overly sluggish processor and older Android interface.

The main purpose of 'budget' handsets such as this one seems to be to frighten consumers into paying double the price for decent performance.

Nearly £200 for a mediocre screen and tardy performance sounds like a complete waste of money. If you are that unfussy why not buy a network handset such as Orange's San Francisco for less than half the price?
