Not before time! I hope this is a new trend for smartphones. It strikes me as a much better size/battery life compromise. A phone that (just) lasts a day if you don't use it too much isn't really acceptable - it's the BARE MINIMUM to make it JUST fit for purpose. This sounds much better.

"Does the idea of a slightly bulkier Motorola Razr with a much improved battery life entice you?"
Absolutely, yes! Anything less than 10mm is hardly 'bulky'. At that point, improved battery life becomes more important.
I view this similar to camera makers slowly (too slowly) realising that after a certain point more MPix is less useful than less noise, more DR etc.

Easy: give me the 2mm + the day extra time!

Given how often I've heard people on this site complaining about the current drive towards thinness while battery life seems to suffer, I think this phone will generate a following. Whether that actually translates into sales, I'm not so sure.

Personally, I'd be content with about 30% more battery life than my Xperia Arc currently provides. At least then I'd be able to get through a full day, regardless of how I used it.

Kudos to Motorola for shaking things up though.
