Sounds like your 9800 GT isn't truly single slot. I've never heard of a motherboard to have less than the standard slot width apart.

oh, whoops. didn't realise, but now i look at it the cooler does stick out about a couple of millimetres from the pcb. ah well, i never needed the built in wifi adapter anyways...
at least it keeps the card cooler than normal

just a question: is the pci slot below the pci express slot accessible when a single slot card is present? my new matx board is so cramped my 9800 gt (i know - mad) which is a single slot card actually blocks a little of the pci slot, so i can't use it...
though to be fair it has got a single slot custom cooler...
