DFI Brings the LANParty to Athlon 64 Owners

DFI, manufacturer of the popular ‘LANParty’ series of motherboards, has announced another addition to its range. The LANPartyUT 250GB offers support for the Athlon 64 using nVidia’s nForce3 250GB chipset. Surprisingly though, the board is designed for Socket 754 processors up to 3700+, rather than the newer Socket 939 CPUs.

As is traditional with the LANParty series, the new board is UV sensitive, bringing glow-in-the-dark cool to those whose PCs have a clear side panel. Under black lights, the motherboard glows when using the bundled UV sensitive round cables.

The LANPartyUT also features great overclocking features. The highlight is a range of voltage adjustments in the BIOS enabling the CPU, AGP and memory voltages to be carefully tweaked for optimal performance. The memory VDIMM multiplier values can be carefully adjusted in increments of 0.5.

DFI tells us that the board enabled overclocking champion Tony Leach (also known as Bigtoe) to break the world record with the LANPartyUT 250GB to deliver a 425 MHz CPU FSB and DDR 600 memory overclock. What we’re most surprised about by this is discovering that there is actually a world overclocking championship.

Feature wise the board supports SATA, RAID, Gigabit LAN, 8-channel audio, SPDIF in and out, USB 2.0 and Firewire.
