Meh.. I think 2132x1200 would be better. There's no sense in having both the horizontal and the vertical resolution un-remember-able numbers.

i have a performance meter side bar on my pc that always gets covered by anything full screen, and will always also get in the way of i overlay it. and it's my favourite gadget, also...

I thought the actual reasoning behind the res was to have two a4 vertical pages and still have space (for sidebar, or desktop icons or whatever)

@Horace: because it is easier to visualise 16:10 to 16:9 than 8:5 to 16:9.

I have to say, don't be too hasty about the sidebar disappearing in Windows 7. I like it, and there are plenty of others out there who don't want gadgets scattered all over their desktop where they can accidentally be clicked. However, there should be a better implementation than it's current state.
