PocketCM Keyboard v0.14

PocketCM is a straightforward QWERTY keyboard with iPhone-esque style keys that pop up when you press them. It's basic, but you can slide your finger around to find the right letter if you don't press the right key at the first attempt. And, as you type, the software makes word suggestions, which don't intrude too much, or conflict with Window Mobile's own. It works very well in general, and after a few minutes use I found myself typing out generally error free text.

It is not without its faults. The main keypad, for instance, has a shortage of symbols, which means you have to switch between the number/symbol pad and the QWERTY layout far too often, especially when entering web and email addresses. The keys are small and very close together, which has an impact on typing speed.

But it feels churlish to criticise when it's completely free, and offers such a vast improvement over the standard Windows Mobile keyboard. Give it a whirl before taking the plunge and spending money elsewhere - you might just decide to stick with it.
