I'm starting to get confused by MS's strategy. There are too many things going on. WM6.5, WM7, Pink. Why all the different platforms/OSs. They just complicating things too much.

"They just complicating things too much." Surely that is just Microsoft all over.

Because, ravmania, overcomplicating stuff is what Microsoft do. Ever tried to explain the different versions of Windows XP to someone? What about the different modes of IE8 (IMO just a way of bullying the world into ignoring standards boards, which MS themselves sit on). What about that Ribbon thing in Office. Sure its pretty, and it means less mouse clicks for the IT literate, but does it REALLY help? Or does it just confuse the mass public who just about got used to the old menu system?
etc
etc
etc

I wish they would go with HTC instead of Sharp :(
HTC's Touch series looks 9999x times cooler than these two.
And WinMo7, "Danger", and Zune's OS should all become one really.

@those counting MS OS' - You've missed off the xbox interface (I forget what it's called)... Microsoft, with all the pies it's fingers are in, have the potential to bring the world of consumer electronics together into one glorious, harmonious ecosystem where your phone, your computer, your console, your home entertainment system, your this and your that all communicate easily, synchronise without intervention, and make your life a gadgetous joy.
That potential, unfortunately, does a runner when it looks back and sees the company's history.

I think this looks like a really smart move from Microsoft. Maybe they realise that Windows Mobile will never fully compete with the more consumer-oriented OSs from Google and Apple. With a clean slate they can build a finger-friendly OS for capacitive screens from the ground up, leaving Windows Mobile to business market where it still enjoys a healthy lead. If they can build in some of the Zune HD's multi-touch loveliness and multimedia features (and even the Tegra platform), that would be a device to be reckoned with.
