The title rather gives this away...

Nokia has finally given us a release date for its most anticipated handset to date, the N97. The flagship handset will officially go on sale in the UK on Friday 19 June. It will be available at Nokia stores and from its online store for the slightly more palatable sim free price of £499.

Interestingly, Nokia has also announced the N97 will be launched on the 3, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone networks and stocked by the Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U branches from 26 June. Previously Orange had declined the N97 based on its native Skype integration so we've pressed Nokia for clarification over this issue. O2 still remains out the picture.

The Nokia N97 marks the Finns' first high end touchscreen device (following the mid-range 5800 XpressMusic) and packs in top specs. Most notably you'll find HSDPA, WiFi, aGPS, a 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens, physical sliding Qwerty keyboard, whopping 32GB of native memory and a microSD slot. It will also come with the Ovi Store preinstalled. The choice of a resistive touchscreen however is a disappointment while at 117.2 x 55.3 x 15.9mm (18.25mm at the camera) and approximately 150g you'll need big pockets.

So, that's the Palm Pre, Nokia N97 and possibly a third generation iPhone as well as the exciting Android based Samsung I7500 all arriving this month. Happy June folks!
