I think they'd place serious limitations on the files, such as only playable for 10 days or something before they need to be resynced or a system similar to Zune Pass? So you get unlimited streaming music and can keep 10 or so tracks a month. Otherwise it would be a bad choice business wise. But in terms of usability ABSOLUTELY BLOODY FANTASTIC!!! I really hope it makes it into the applications as it's a great idea and really deserves a chance, and would stand a chance of actually turning some Pirates into people willing to listen to a couple of ads and/or subscribers.

Does anyone else think that a good source of revenue from Spotify going mobile would be more targeted advertising? I know everyones adverse to the idea of more advertising but looking at it from the POV of Spotify who makes their living from it, I'm sure corporations would pay big money if Spotify ads could be directed to people close to their stores along the lines of "Hey we see you're close to store X, why not come in and have a look at our new Y?", which would be made possible by the GPS capabilities most smartphones now have.

i imagine there'd be a limit on the number of tracks you can download at a time for offline mode.

i'm not sure if i see the point of this. unless you have wifi available will you be able to stream music over wifi satisfactorily. and it sounds like a real battery killer.

I'd imagine that queued downloads would only be playable once, making the end-user experience exactly the same as now, ads and all, except they wouldn't need to be permanently connected to the net.
