It's a busy day in Apple land folks, so let's waste no time diving in...

First up O2 has announced reduced price iPhones for those willing to take up a longer two year contract. From 3 April, customers will be able to snap up a free 8GB model on a £34.26pm plan (600 minutes, 500 texts, unlimited data and WiFi access) while a £44.05 deal (as cheaper tariff but with 1200 minutes per month) snags a free 16GBer. By comparison that saves £96.89 and £57.74 respectively on the current prices, but at the cost of those six extra months.

Next High Definition movies are now available for purchase on iTunes in the US for the rather princely sum of $19.99. Obviously the move pre-empts a similar leap for the UK market so let's hope 1) those licensing agreements don't take long and 2) the weak pound doesn't kill us.

Finally for those (illogically) considering purchasing Apple's flawed new iPod shuffle (8GB Sansa Clip only £40), the silver and black versions can now be bought in any custom colour you like courtesy of those chaps at Computer Choppers. @hugo,

Okay, cheers. I was always under the illusion that callers on piggy backed providers get 'bumped' of the network first if it's really busy.more
